We have been an affection-ados of Serendipity since they first opened around 20 years ago. Since the humble beginnings Lizelle has sought to make this restaurant somewhere that diners will talk about afterwards. Her culinary skills are wonderful and she makes every creation so flavoursome which is why she has succeeded in winning so many prestigious awards over the years. Menus change fairly frequently. Wine pairing available if required but they have an extensive cellar. They grow their own mushrooms (or forage locally) and make their own salami (have eaten pigeon and wild pig). Vegetarians catered for on the menu. Not to be missed if passing by or wanting to stay. Bookings are essential, especially in peak times as space is limited. Go there!!!!!!

Our evening in Serendipity was an amazing culinary journey through South Africa. We were very much impressed by Lizelle´s delicious creations, the service was excellent and the location is beautiful. I had no FOMO as a vegetarian and was also happy with the wine pairing. The cherry on top was Rudolph's entertaining presentation. He made us laugh many times creating good vibes. Definitely going next time, I´m in Wilderness. Lekker!

What an utterly incredible dining experience!
From the moment we were picked up by the restaurant’s driver we knew we were going to enjoy a wonderful evening.
The food was astonishing, the wine pairings perfect and the entire staff knowledgeable, friendly and professional. We are already planning a return visit when we visit the area again in November.

My wife and I have been supporting Serendipity since just after it opened some 20 years ago. The quality and flavours of the cuisine has gone from strength to strength and it is easy to se why Lizelle and her team have won 3 World Restaurant Awards. It is a cosy restaurant with limited numbers so booking is essential. Covid Rules strictly applied. An excellent wine list and some special aperitifs. South African cuisine of course. Locally produced ingredients and Lizelle's husband provides excellent meats from hunting and from fishing. Great staff who have also been with Lizelle for many years. We make a point of dining there when passing by or just going there to enjoy her cuisine. It is fine dining with 5 courses and relatively expensive but you cannot stay locally (B and B in the same property) without being tempted.
