The restaurant is starting to feel a bit “tired” with menus and furniture looking worn and well used mid way through the holidays. The ambience is relaxed and informal. The food is fresh but average for a seafood restaurant that is right on the beach. The wine list is a bit limited with few wines being available by-the-glass. It has a great sea view.

The best seafood restaurant in Hermanus! Crispy tempura prawns, zingy fresh tuna sashimi tortilla with pickled jalapeno peppers, oysters three ways, baby calamari in a ginger chilli sauce - the most amazing sushi menu made by a master sushi chef - all overlooking the sea and whales below!
You have to try the signature dish of sesame crusted and seared tuna fillet on dill mash with delicious umami jus. Baby Kingklip on the bone, variety of fresh linefish and all kinds of crustaceans and platter options.
Space for dessert? Try the Kahlua Crème Brûlée!
Friendly service, bustling, lively atmosphere; book ahead for a good table.
A local favourite and a legend among fish restaurants in the Cape. If you're in Hermanus, you gotta go.

Very disappointed with the food. It was bland and tasteless. Even adding a sauce to the fish made no difference. Truly a bad experience.

This restuarant disappointed us terribly. We had been there before and enjoyed our meal, but they now have ridiculous prices (except for one or two dishes on a special menu - such as hake and chips) for some average to poor food. I had prawn linguine which was recomended and it tasted like onion linguine with some tasteless prawns in it. My son had a crab curry which comprised of crab offcuts with very little flesh on it. My other son had seared tuna steaks - one seared and raw as it should be the other cooked through. My wife had hake and chips with a few prawns from the other menu - cheapest meal and the only one worth having.
