Had a great day out with the lads at Kabeljoes ... Thanx to Adriaan and Hardus for their hospitality and great food aswell as their fantastic staff working with pride ... I will prever the Dubble surf and turf beef and Calamari burger as the most tasty burger in SA....

My husband and I were away for our Anniversary and decide to have some seafood. We arrived and there were only 2 other customers in the restaurant (a couple). We were seated and the service form there was atrocious. I had to look for my waitress 3 ties, twice when i found her she was on her cell phone standing just behind the kitchen door. They were not busy so this to me is just bad. The starters arrived and they were nice. We then were not checked on for drinks or our mains for another 30 minutes, this is after finishing the starter, the waitress rushed away after dropping the starters. I wet and looked for the waitress eventuality, she then sent out a new waitress so I assume they changed shifts, we ordered the drinks, she dropped then and walked off without asking us if we wanted to order anything to eat, so I called her back and asked her nicely to please not forget about us.We were really relaxed and just wanted a nice meal. eventually we went and sat inside so we could be seen. The mains arrived and my husbands was inedible - he had ordered the Seafood Stew, so full of tomato puree that all you could taste was sour tomato. My seafood platter was terrible, the prawns were powdery, a sign of age, the only thing that was nice was the calamari, but for the price we paid I would have expected better, the bill in the end was R600 less my husbands meal as we had them take it back and remove it form the bill. so R600 for 2 drinks each, 2 starters and 1 main - I am sorry but they really cannot ask they price they do and then delivery what they do. Absolutely terrible, don't waste your money. If my husband's meal would have been included it would have come to R800, which is fine if its up to standard. I definitely will not be back. we left and got some pies for my husband to have for supper and were R600 poorer - no manager in sight. Very Disappointing
