A great spot for an afternoon with the family. The menu isn't anything out of the ordinary, but they do great milkshakes (the strawberry one has actual fruit in it) and the view is just gorgeous. The burger is good (with crisps, not fries) and the scones are a winner. Freshly baked and generously portioned. Before or after your meal, grab a bucket and pick some roses from the gardens on the side of the hill (charged per stem).

Was really disappointed with the service and the attitude of the staff. We came in ( table of 3) and got asked to move to another table that aleady had 2 people as a bigger table of 5 came in and would be taking our table although they hadn't booked but clearly took preference because they were going to order more. There were alternate tables outside they could have been offered. The staff not proactive or service oriented at all. Very unprofessional. It was very disappointing as it is such a stunning venue.

First time visiting this morning and very disappointed! Won't go back. Reserved a table during the week and arrived ten minutes before the appointed time to find no available tables and an explanation of "someone gave your table away by mistake." No one offered us an alternative table so we were left milling around until we made our own plan. The manager is beyond useless, kept passing blame onto her staff "he doesn't know what he's doing" "she didn't understand me when I told her what to do" etc. Food wasn't great, flies everywhere and half of it arrived fifteen minutes before the rest. To top it off there was a problem with the bill. Such a pity because it's the most gorgeous setting. What a waste!!! Ps I'm only giving one star because it's required for submission or I'd give none!!

Shocking service! We had booked a table for a special occasion but when we arrived (exactly on time) it had been given away. The manager passed the blame onto her staff and took no responsibility for the situation. We were left milling around and no one helped us find another table, eventually we had to help the staff carry extra chairs to a free table which wasn't big enough for our party. There were flies all over the food and the service was very slow. Our children's meals arrived ages after our meals. When we complained to the manager she grudgingly offered us two pieces of cake (for our table of 9) to make up for the bad service, which we declined as we were on our way out already. Such a disappointment as the location is stunning!

We have been visiting the chart farm regularly over the years, mostly for the location as the food has never been spectacular. Today we hit an all time low!!! On arrival, the staff looked at is like we were crazy and when we said we would like a table they said we can sit anywhere outside (all the inside tables were reserved although no on arrived to use them). We sat down and got no service, we asked once and the waitress rolled her eyes and did nothing, eventually I asked, what looked like the manager, who obliged as if she was doing us a favour. Our food came, well at least most of our order, the cake was fine but the microwaved pancakes, that arrived after we had finished, we're disgusting. What an aweful experience. We won't go back and would advise people to not bother with the place.
