Finally - a good restaurant has come to town! Last night we ventured out in a Johannesburg thunderstorm, ready to be disappointed in the latest restaurant in town but we were pleasantly surprised. Where to start? The restaurant has huge glass windows that look out onto the Sandton Gautrain station and we could almost believe we were in any city in the world but the Johannesburg lightning and thunderstorm gave us a spectacular view, the decor is clean and modern, maybe a little boring.

We shared the duck starter - delicious. My partner had the beef fillet and raved about the potatoes. My dish was the star of the night, pork belly with lentils, corn and apple - wow. The pork belly was delicious but I almost wished I had had the lentil dish because the lentils were delicious. The wine list was very interesting and thank heavens - not a fat bastard in sight!

The service was excellent. A special mention to our waiter Sibusiso who was very attentive and made our night special. Another special mention to all the other staff who found out that it was my birthday and baked a lovely birthday cake for me. Thank you!
So finally, Cape Town food has come to Johannesburg but with much better service than we could get in the Mother City. We hope the chef challenges the rest of the food scene in Johannesburg and we will definitely be returning.
