Our first visit to Burger Bistro was a good couple of years ago to the original branch in Pierneef, Pretoria. Since then we've also been to the Clubview branch, but it's actually been a while since our last visit to Burger Bistro.
We decided to check out the Hazelwood branch. Best time to do it – on a Sunday before the lunchtime crowd descends! The very funky and fun decor always grabs my attention. A bit of a throwback to the eighties, complete with a Pacman arcade game in the corner! I was thrilled to find out that they also offer ½ price contains on Sundays, so I had to take advantage of it!
Although we know that our 'hot food' tolerance is not what it used to be, we nevertheless decided to try some bacon-wrapped jalapeno poppers for starters. Because bacon. It was super spicy, but really tasty.
Now, the reason we were there – burgers! As always, it was quite a challenge to decide on what to order because the burger menu is quite extensive. I finally settled on the Elvis burger, a chicken burger (you've got a choice of chicken or beef) and PeanutButter Sauce & Bacon. As decadent and divine as it sounds. Especially for a peanut butter lover like me! Washed down with a ½ price jug of Sangria, this was so good! I will be back to try a few more!
