Excellant food, made fresh, with thoughtful ingredients, amazing coffee. Good, friendly service. Great spot to relax, view various art exhibits and a funky shop with handmade local products. Watch out for their First Thursday events which always offer something new. Great place!

Not a particularly wonderful breakfast experience - especially when there's so many great options nearby.

Regrettably went to Arts Cafe Durban Mother's Day 11 May..... Sigh!!!
After a 15 minute wait placed an order... My tea was cold in a half full teapot - no courtesy of asking about 'hot or cold milk'. 45 minutes after placing the food order, my daughter's portobello mushroom panned out to be chopped oily mushrooms with cold baked beans cold toast, and a delightful 'frisby' type egg - at least the other cold egg appeared vaguely edible! My husband received a stodgy cold muffin with tiny shreds of salmon topped with cold hollandaise sauce, and 2 perfectly cold poached eggs. My breakfast was cold, missed some of the promised ingredients, and hey, somebody forgot to put the toaster onto toast! And oh... begged for service, sauce, and got an empty salt grinder... But then the 'gentleman serving' seemed quite disinterested....
This was particulary disappointing as we have had some very pleasant meals there in the past. Sadly the last two meals have been awful - perhaps linked to the fact that on both occassions, the same gentleman was serving?! Not returning.....sadly!
