Method

Muddle the simple syrup with basil leaves in a shaker. Fill the shaker with cubed ice and add the vodka and fresh lime. Shake and strain into a tumbler over ice cubes. If using lemonade and soda, put into a highball glass. Garnish with a basil leaf.
