What is number 20 to number 11?
Hi Dirk, the numbers from 11 to 20 aren’t ranked, but you can find the full list of fantastic nominees here: https://www.eatout.co.za/article/revealed-full-list-20-nominees-2015-eat-mercedes-benz-restaurant-awards/
So, after all is said and done, who exactly can afford to eat at any of these restaurants? Not me, sadly.
To be quite honest, a disgraceful showing from the Gauteng fraternity. Virtually every business person in South Africa of any substance visits/ entertains or resides in Gauteng. You should be ashamed of the fact that you actually need to entertain and impress in the Western Cape and that you showed so poorly in this survey. Thank God I’ve retired
The competition in the Western Cape is fierce and it’s good to see some restaurants in the Top 10 consistently maintaining standards year after year. I’m very surprised not to see Cheyne’s on the list of nominees though.
Some weeks ago I left 2 messages on the answering service at Terroir, and eventually, after some more unanswered calls, called the Lodge and asked them to ask someone, anyone, at the restaurant to call me. The morning of the day (a graduation celebration) that we wanted to lunch there arrived and still no one had called. And to this day I’ve had no call back. So the food may be good but they surely do not deserve to be top 10 on any list.
