Anna Trapido describes what she does as “food sociology”, merging her qualification in anthropology with her culinary training and love of food. She is a writer, broadcaster and the author of Hunger for Freedom: The Story of Food in the Life of Nelson Mandela, for which she won the Special Jury prize at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards.
Anna joins the prestigious judging panel for the 2022 Eat Out Woolworths Restaurant Awards, saying: “I think it’s a very interesting year to be judging because it’s almost as though the restaurant industry is rising like phoenixes from the fires, and they might be all different birds.”
