Clear your calendars, foodies: three of the country’s top chefs are teaming up for an annual fundraising luncheon to take place on Monday 6 May in aid of StreetSmart South Africa.
Chefs David Schneider of Chefs Warehouse at Maison, Darren Badenhorst of Le Coin Français, and Chris Erasmus of Foliage will be collaborating for a once-off luncheon to take place from 12pm, at Foliage in Franschhoek. The meal will comprise a starter of pastrami on rye by David, a main course of BBQ lamb belly by Chris, and a dessert dubbed “monochrome of summer berries” by Darren. The lunch is priced at R755 per person, including a wine pairing and live acoustic music by John Niel.
All proceeds will be going to StreetSmart South Africa, the local organisation dedicated to funding selected and approved organisations that run programmes for the normalisation of homeless and vulnerable children’s lives.
