No road trip along the N2 would be complete without a visit to the iconic Peregrine Farm Stall. The farm stall is well-known for its golden, flaky and delicious pies. They also have a wide menu of breakfast items, light lunches, cake and more.

The little seaside town of Paternoster is home to a beloved seafood spot, The Noisy Oyster. Dine in a charming courtyard and choose items from a three-course menu boasting a wide selection of dishes such as pan-roasted angel fillet and slow-roasted pork belly.
Travelling along Route 62 between Barrydale and Ladismith you will find the renowned Ronnie’s Sex Shop, a spot that has been dubbed one of the most “unique” pubs in the country. Famed across South African for its take on decor with women’s underwear donning its ceiling, Ronnie’s Sex Shop offers a wide range of refreshing drinks and quick bites. Hearty pub meals can be ordered from Roadkill Cafe, an outdoor deck seating area that forms part of Ronnie’s Sex Shop.
The Cape Winelands are home to an abundance of must-visit spots and Waverly Hills Organic Wine & Olive Estate is one of them. Located off the R46 between Tulbagh and Ceres, Waverly Hill’s in-house restaurant is nestled within a thriving vineyard. The restaurant prides itself on producing fresh and delicious meals using produce sourced from local farmers and its very own permaculture garden. They have a jungle gym for the kids while the adults enjoy a glass of organic wine.

The famous seaside town of the Western Cape, Hermanus is home to The Wine Glass Restaurant. Only a mere two hours’ drive out of Cape Town, the picturesque town is often a stopover for many travellers on their road trip. The Wine Glass, a wine bar and restaurant, caters to both those looking for a quick bite and those in search of a heartier dish. With small plate options such as Atlantic oysters and main courses such as forest mushroom linguine, there is something for everyone.
