What better way to treat the queen that’s your mother than with a regal-feel high tea at Mount Nelson? The afternoon tea is available from 7 to 9 May between 12 and 3pm and priced at R395 for adults and R250 for kids aged four to 11 years. This elegant tea at Mount Nelson’s iconic lounge takes the eons old tradition of tea and cake to the next level, and also includes a special gift for mom. 

Spier Hotel Restaurant (Stellenbosch)

Take a detour to the Winelands and have Mother’s Day lunch at Spier Wine Farm in Stellenbosch. Children under three years will dine for free, while it’s R140 for children aged between three and 11 years, and R425 for adults. The three-course meal starts off with a complimentary glass of Spier’s signature rosé and ends with a dessert menu where you choose between seven delectable sweet and savoury creations. 

Radisson Blu Hotel (Granger Bay)

If the City Bowl is what you fancy, brunch at Radisson Blu’s Stratus Room must be on the list. From 11am until 3pm on Mother’s Day, treat mom to a selection of two hot dishes, one cold dish, a glass of bubbly or wine for R320 per person. Also includes a vegan menu for the same price.

FABER (Paarl)

Just on the outskirts of Paarl, by the scenic slopes of the Klein Drakensberg mountains, lies Mother Nature’s gem — the FABER restaurant at Avondale Wine Estate. Enjoy a three-course family-style sharing lunch that is based on organic produce. It includes breadboards, a starter, mains and a plated dessert for adults. The two course costs R390 per adult, three courses are R450 per adult, six courses cost R690 per adult, and the two-course kids’ menu is R110 for children under 12 years.

The Manor at Nederburg (Paarl)

Make the most out of this day with a family feast at The Manor at Nederburg Estate in the Cape Winelands. The Mother’s Day special caters for a maximum of 20 guests per table starting from 12pm on Sunday. The price is R155 per person for one main dish with two sides, and R185 for two mains and two sides.
