Last year we reported on South Africa’s most Instagrammable coffee, The Grind Coffee Company’s Coffee in a Cone, for which a hot brew is served in a chocolate-lined ice-cream cone. The story quickly spread around the world, going viral like no other, covered by international sites like CNN and The Daily Mail, amongst others.
Creator Dayne Levinrad quickly patented the recipe, which involves lining an ice-cream cone with a compound of different chocolates to withstand the heat of the hot liquid for just long enough. Now, Slo-Jo Trading has bought the sole distribution rights for Dayne’s carefully engineered chocolate cones, which means that the Coffee in a Cone has gone international. It’s currently available in Hong Kong, with more cities to come shortly.
