Popular for their lazy weekend lunches and live music, this spot in Noordhoek Village is a great venue for any occasion. There’s a fireplace for chilly winter days and the crowd-pleasing food ranges from eggs Benedict to burgers and wood-fired pizzas.

They also offer a range of home-made cakes, which you can preorder for your party. The venue also has an in-house projector and sound system should you want to make any speeches for the parents-to-be.

Chocolat Bistro (Durbanville)

This beautiful French-inspired eatery boasts a chic, bistro-style offering and has charming backdrops for photo opportunities. It offers bespoke party planning to create the baby shower of your dreams.

High tea is one of their most popular experiences and costs R320 per person for a minimum of 10 guests. It includes vegetable spring rolls with Thai sauce, roasted fig and Black Forest ham crostini, Norwegian salmon blinis, lemon meringue tartlets, mini cheesecake, chocolate éclairs, and much more.

The table will also be beautifully decorated. The price includes a cup of filter coffee or tea, but additional drinks are available to order.

Clay Café (CBD and Hout Bay)

For something a little different, why not get creative and host a baby shower at the popular Clay Café? Always a hit with party planners, this spot ticks so many boxes.

The Lawns (Camps Bay)

The Lawns is a beautiful summer venue with sweeping sea views. It has become a favourite with locals and tourists for its large menu and ample seating, which can play host to multiple special occasions at once.

For your baby shower, you can choose between a lazy, sunny picnic with soft picnic-style seating, an intimate setting on one of the sun-dappled decks, one of the three lawn seating areas (with Lawn 3 catering to kiddies with a jumping castle), or the Oak Terrace with lounge-style seats and views of the 12 Apostles.

The President Hotel (Bantry Bay)

This is another excellent spot for a summer baby shower. Whether it’s a pizza or pamper party, the poolside Deck venue (with sea views) is a true gem for a special occasion.

There’s no hire fee but if you want to book the bar area for private use, a pre-paid bar tab of R3000 and full pre-payment for food are required. This includes staffing and free parking.

The Table at De Meye (Stellenbosch)

This is definitely one for the foodies – but be sure you book way in advance if you want a larger table. For an intimate, lazy outdoor party, this winelands spot is ideal.

The food is served family-style, which means whatever is on the menu that day (think Welsh rarebit with roast beetroot and 15-hour braised lamb) will be brought to the table on beautiful platters for guests to enjoy.

Tokara Delicatessan (Stellenbosch)

Take a trip to wine country and set up an intimate baby shower at Tokara’s deli. This relaxed wine farm eatery is beautiful in both summer and winter and they happily host baby showers when booked in advance (they can even bake a bespoke cake for the event).

There’s a gorgeous outdoor play area for any little ones attending. Their breakfast set menu costs R250 per person with MCC, or R220 with juice.

The menu includes a granola and seasonal fruit bowl followed by eggs  Benedict of your choice.
