We’ve got some exciting news! For the first time ever, Eat Out has partnered with Uber to bring you UberLUNCH this Friday, 30 October. What’s for lunch? Bespoke gourmet burgers from three top restaurants. It’s the first time each of these amazing restaurants will be making these burgers – and your one chance to taste them.
In Cape Town, the Hog House – brainchild of former Top 10 chef PJ Vadas – will be preparing a smoked brisket ‘burger’ with bread and butter pickles, rocket and watercress.
In Durban, past winner of the Best Bistro Award 9th Avenue Bistro will be preparing a sizzling homemade beef burger with lamb bacon, gouda and mint mayo.
In Joburg, 2015 nominee DW Eleven-13 and sister restaurant The Grazing Room will be preparing the Joburger: a 100g Wagyu beef patty on a homemade brioche bun with mustard slaw, caramelised onion and smoked cheddar.
On Friday, Uber riders in Cape Town, Joburg and Durban will be able to request two gourmet burgers delivered to their door for only R120. Numbers will be limited, so you’ll have to have your finger poised and ready to order at Friday midday.

Can we use credit cards to pay? Or is it cash only?
Hi Celsio, payment is through the Uber app, which works via credit card.
Hello Guys!
I was just wondering why this initiative is not also implemented in Pretoria?
We have Uber. And we have a few killer Gourmet Burger joints also in the mix… So why shut the Jacaranda City out?
Hi Peter, We agree on the burger front – Pretoria has some glorious ones! And one day we’d love to feed everyone burgers – but for now we had to limit the promotion to three cities.
Why is it telling me “No burgers available”?
The map of CPT says we are included but when I tried to order on my phone it said it was not available. We are hungry in Claremont. Lame! 🙁
I also live in the “Burger Zone” according to the map, but it said not available. Moved the pickup location to Liesbeek Parkway in Mowbray and set the final destination as my address and it seems to be working 😉
Neat trick, thanks Alex! 😀
well, that just isnt fair…im all about ubering a fat gormet burger, why does Pretoria always get left out 🙁 and when i “soon” 🙁 its already a year on guys…
