Whether you’re in the mood for a gluten-free treat or a gluten-filled freshly baked favourite, brothers Samuel and Tarirai have you covered!

Coppa (Parkhurst)

Perfect for breakfast, lovely for their delicious coffees and excellent for their most exquisite range of cakes. Some of their cake flavours include Carrot, Red velvet, Chocolate and Lemon all priced at R64 a slice.

Whatever the occasion, make it extra special by ordering Coppa’s freshly baked whole cakes. Dulce de Leche(3 layers of cinnamon cake filled with generous layers of house signature dulce de leche), Brigadeiro(chocolate cake filled with the signature creamy Brigadeiro and Belgium chocolate) and Lemony(citrus cake filled with Belgium white chocolate and lemon ganache, covered with Italian merengue) are just a few of the options available. Emily’s Cakes (Observatory)

This family-run bakery will knock your socks off with their bespoke cake designs and creations. At Emily’s, they advise patrons to place their orders at least two weeks ahead of the occasion or event. They offer standard cake options like carrot cake (R350), chocolate cake (R100), granadilla cake (R100), coffee cake (R100), mocha caramel cake (R160) and more. Fournos Bakery

Order your favourite cake online or well in advance over the phone in order to have your sweet treat available in time for your celebration. Fournos offers you a variety of sweet choices like their black forest cake R450 (to order three days in advance), their aromatic carrot cake at R220, their chocolate ganache cake at R230, a chocolate mousse cake at R220 and more. Vegan and vegetarian options are available too.

The Goddess Café (Linden)

If you are on the lookout for a great selection of delicious and beautifully crafted sweet treats, pretty-looking spaces, inviting ambiance and mouth-watering drinks all in one, The Goddess Café might be the perfect place for you. Just Teddy (Hyde Park)

Just Teddy is a family-owned Boulangerie and Patisserie nestled in the heart of Hyde Park. This world-class French-style patisserie café offers mouth-watering eclairs, to sorbets and, of course a wide cake selection that is available in a variety of flavours and designs.

You can choose from a variety of cakes including the Classic Baked Cheesecake(R55), Opera(a classic French Opera cake made with layers of almond sponge, potent coffee syrup, French buttercream, and chocolate ganache), Russian Honey cake(spiced honey sponge smothered in decadent honey infused buttercream). Situated at Cedar Square shopping centre, Oh My Cake offers the perfect custom-made cakes and cupcakes to compliment any occasion. Moist and flavourful, their whimsical creations include an elegant looking White Buttercream cake dripping in gold; a drool-worthy Oreos & Chocolate cake; and a Frozen-inspired buttercream, Rafaelllos vanilla & chocolate macarons character cake. “It’s always tea time at Oregano!” This quaint coffee shop and bakery is most certainly a hidden gem in Linden.
