Misty Hills (Muldersdrift)
Misty Hills Country Hotel is offering a six-course festive lunch with offerings such as a starter that includes springbok-and-kudu sashimi marinated and crusted with pepper and coriander. The main course is a roasted turkey-and-duck roll stuffed with sage and pear and served with grilled polenta, heirloom root vegetables and cranberry jus. The kiddies’ selection includes a variety of main options and a gingerbread house for dessert. The lunch costs R395 for adults, R210 for children under 12, and is free for children under six.
Avianto (Muldersdrift)
Near the Crocodile River, Avianto is offering a gourmet plated Christmas lunch with live music and a jumping castle for the little ones. The menu includes a main of apple-and-pine nut turkey roulade, twice-cooked gammon with frosted cherries, and slow-roast beef fillet. It costs R695 for adults, R350 for children under twelve, and R80 for kids under four.
Irene Farm (Centurion)
There are several lovely options to choose from on this working dairy farm. The Barn Restaurant offers both a Christmas Day breakfast (R195pp) and lunch (R565pp) special. The breakfast comprises a selection of pastries and hot goodies while the lunch buffet includes a variety of starters, salads and meats. Over at The Deck, you will be welcomed with a kir royale drink before indulging in several courses, including an option of chocolate duck, for R565 per person. At The Barn, children under five eat for free and it’s half price for children up to the age of eleven.

De Kloof (Groenkloof, Pretoria)
Enjoy a festive lunch in the Waterkloof Golf Estate with a menu designed by Chef Phillip. There are several courses including a starter of gruyere-and-cauliflower fondant, maraschino cherry sorbet and paprika-roasted nuts. The main course is nicknamed “fency skaap” and includes a lamb-and-raisin pie with ras el hanout pomme purée and lamb rib chop. It costs R640.
Zagora Grill Room (Centurion)
The Royal Elephant Hotel is offering a Christmas lunch buffet from 12–3pm at Zagora Grill Room. It includes live entertainment and a welcome drink. Adults pay R545 per person, and it costs R270 per child under 11 and is free for the little ones under 5.
Radisson Blu Sandton (Sandton)
For a lovely break away in the Sandton CBD, there are two festive meals on the cards at the Radisson Blu. The plated dinner on Christmas Eve is R475 per person and includes a welcome drink and live entertainment. They are also offering a 10% discount for groups of 10 or more. A Christmas Day buffet lunch is offered for R650 and includes a visit from Father Christmas and an edible Candyland display. Kids under six come in at half price.

Black Eagle Boutique Hotel (Roodepoort)
This boutique hotel, wedding and conference venue is hoping to host its Christmas lunch out in the garden. The little ones are more than welcome with activities such as colouring-in and a jumping castle planned. Children under 6 eat for free while kids under 12 join for R220 and adults for R570.
Glenburn Lodge (Muldersdrift)
For something a little unusual or if you can’t fit everything into one day, this spot is hosting a pre-Christmas Sunday Lunch on 20 December. They’ll be adding some festive trimmings to their scrumptious Sunday lunch, including an 18-dessert buffet. Adults pay R210, and there are various prices for children depending on their age.
Winehouse at Ten Bompas Hotel (Dunkeld West)
Join for a Christmas lunch Picnic where you can expect a festive three course harvest table experience along with a wine tasting. It’s R650 per person, be sure to book!
