There’s an exciting new chef collaboration brewing in the Cape winelands and this time it includes the formidable team of Liam Tomlin of Chefs Warehouse and Neil Jewell of Bread & Wine. The two chefs have joined forces to bring the winelands its hottest new farm-to-table restaurant. Liam took to Instagram to announce the news that their new venture – named Jewells Restaurant – will be opening mid- to late-April 2019 at Spice Route in Paarl.

While the news is still fresh, Liam has revealed that the new restaurant – which will be located at the old Bertus Basson at Spice Route location – will have a strong focus on farm-to-table cuisine and wine, and will of course feature Neil’s famous charcuterie and the breads of his wife, Tina Jewell.

This news comes hot on the heels of Bertus Basson closing his spot at Spice Route last month due to the end-of-lease period being reached. Neil and Tina will be leaving their post at Bread & Wine after 19 years at the restaurant.
