Boschendal Style Award Nominee: Planet

Our latest nominee for the Boschendal Style Award is a style stalwart of the Mother City.
 
The restaurant:
Located inside the historic Mount Nelson Hotel, Planet Restaurant offers elegant fine dining with an intergalactic twist.
 
The food:
The restaurant is nominated for the Top 10 this year, so expect good things. Chef Rudi Liebenberg’s food is constantly evolving, but for now, he recommends the BBQ lamb rump with broadbean tips, Jerusalem artichokes and barley. Ingredients are locally sourced, and very carefully selected. Currently, Rudi is experimenting with ingredients from the pasture where their lamb and chicken is reared, to add depth to his dishes. The x-factor:
A bespoke carpet (designed by dhk thinkspace and crafted by Ulster) with galaxy and star constellations and hand-blown glass lights carry the theme through subtly, but it’s the details which give this restaurant the edge. Top glassware, cutlery and custom furniture by Moorgas & Sons makes this a true fine dining experience.
