Eating out doesn’t have to be expensive, even in Cape Town. We’ve rounded up the best two-for-one deals, so you can either invite someone to join you or eat twice the amount of food. Either way, it’s twice as nice.

Barristers (Newlands)

On Mondays, order any juicy Barristers steak dish and get a second main course for free. Their main courses vary in prices, but the grill prices start at R135 for a 200g rump and the seafood starts at R96. This special excludes takeaways and is available from 6pm on Mondays.

Burger & Lobster (City Bowl)

Enjoy the two-for-one happy hour every day from 4pm to 7pm. This includes a selection of draught beers for R49, wines by the glass and selected signature cocktails like the gin-and-grapefruit-based Exotic Marigold for R79.

Cabron Taco Bar (City Bowl)

Celebrate taco Tuesday: buy two tacos and get one free. Tacos range from R45 to R60.

CASA at The Ritz (Sea Point)

Grab a lounger in the sun and enjoy two-for-one pizzas every Tuesday. You can choose any pizza off the menu; they start at R85.

Catch 22 (Blouberg)

Sit down on Thursdays for the two-for-one sushi special, for which you can receive a second portion of your selected sushi free when you order maki, California rolls (both from R35), fashion sandwiches (from R36), nigiri (from R30), sashimi (from R58) or salmon roses (R59), but you also need to order at least one drink. This is available from 5pm to 10pm.

Clarke’s (City Bowl)

Clarke’s famous burgers are on special on Tuesdays between 6pm and 7pm. Order any two cheeseburgers (R105) or beet-and-aubergine burgers (R85) for the price of one.

Con Brio Bistro (Vredehoek)

This little neighbourhood spot invites you to join them for two-for-one burgers for R92 on Tuesdays.

Dairy Den (Sea Point)

Indulge your sweet tooth with Dairy Den’s delicious two-for-one soft serve on Tuesdays. Take your pick off the soft serve menu, starting at R13 for a regular Plain Jane vanilla cone.

Eat Out the Box (Wynberg)

Order two large pizzas for only R159, two burgers plus chips for R159, or one pizza and one burger for R159.

Engruna Eatery (Sea Point)

Bite into these all-day two-for-one burgers on Mondays and Tuesdays. Buy one burger and get another free. Prices range from R95 to R98.

Hail Pizza (City Bowl)

Look forward to this pizza joint’s two-for-one pizza deal on Thursdays between 6pm and 7pm. You can choose any pizza off their menu, which start at R42 for a small margherita.

HQ (City Bowl)

Enjoy a two-for-one deal on the signature sirloin steak with chips on Monday nights. The two-course set menu includes a salad, steak and chips for R218. The restaurant fills up quickly, so there are designated seating times at 6pm and 8.30pm.

Inside & You’re Out (City Bowl)

Enjoy two 150g burgers with bottomless fries for R120 between 12pm and 6pm, from Mondays to Fridays. IYO embraces Meat Free Mondays too, and offers a two-for-one deal on all veggie and vegan burgers between 12pm and 10pm.

Slug & Lettuce (Kloof Street)

Stop by every Monday for their two-for-one burger special, which is available throughout the day. The special applies to all burgers, which start at R105.

Tiger’s Milk (Claremont, Century City and Stellenbosch)

Make the most of two-for-one cheese or mushroom burgers at Tiger’s Milk (both R95) on Mondays. This special is only available at Claremont, Century City and Stellenbosch branches.

Manga (Mouille Point)

Manga offers a two-for-one special sushi dishes on Tuesdays, available for lunch and dinner. The special applies to their classic sushi menu, which ranges between the R35 and R130 range, as well the eclectic menu, with dishes that start from R50. This applies to both Mouille Point and Church Square but excludes Mojo Market.

The Raptor Room (City Bowl)

This diner-style spot offers a two-for-one special on mac and cheese for R65 on Mondays, and a two-for-one special on burgers on Thursdays.

The Village Idiot (City Bowl)

Every Tuesday is ‘Twosday’ at Village Idiot. This includes two pulled pork burgers topped with house-made coleslaw and a jug of Standard Premium Lager for R130 for two people.

Head down to this vibey Long street spot for two-for-one pizzas all day on Tuesdays and enjoy half off the house wine. Their pizzas start at R58.

Sotano (Sea Point)

Enjoy the two-for-one lamb burger special for R110 from 5pm on Wednesdays.

Van Hunks (Gardens)

On Monday evenings and all day Sundays, order any two standard burgers, with onion rings and chips, and pay R100 for both.
