Want to be hailed as the best burger joint, Mexican restaurant or tapas spot in the city? Almost as important as turning out the yummiest food is getting diners to review your restaurant. The 2018 winners for the Best Everyday Eateries will be determined by tallying every reader review written from 1 September 2017 to 31 August 2018. The restaurants that receive a large volume of high scores from fans* will be visited by Eat Out’s professional critics, who will give their own ratings.
Final results will then be compiled based on a 50-50 composite score from the public and the critics. View last year’s categories and winners here.
Think your patrons need extra motivation to write a quick review? Make sure they know about these two important reasons.
1. They could win a Le Creuset casserole
Diners can get one step closer to their dream kitchens with a Le Creuset 24cm signature round casserole in the hue Provence, valued at R3665. All they have to do is download our free app and write a review before 31 August to enter. (Your restaurant could also take online bookings through the Eat Out app. Find out more here.)
2. They can feed hungry children
For every review written, we pledge a meal for a hungry child through Rise Against Hunger Africa. According to the University of Cape Town’s Children’s Institute, over 3 million children under the age of 17 are food insecure. RAH’s goal is to eradicate hunger in Africa and they focus their efforts on reaching hungry children. Included in each meal is rice, soya, and a fortification pack of 23 essential minerals and vitamins.
* Please note that restaurant employees are not permitted to write reviews for the restaurants at which they work.
