Dinner: Tuesday to Saturday From 6.30pm
The historic Cape Dutch cellar complete with gables, thatch, and original yellowwood ceilings, is the setting for the Rust en Vrede Restaurant. Nestled amongst oak trees and vineyards in the foothills of the Helderberg, Rust en Vrede aims to provide the quintessential winelands dining experience.
The Restaurant on the family-owned wine estate opened its doors in 2007, with head chef Fabio Daniel currently at the helm. Chef Fabio serves contemporary French cuisine, supplemented by his Brazilian and Italian heritage. The six-course menu is made using fresh seasonal products, with special attention to the age and quality of the beef and venison that graces the menu.
Given the Estate’s tradition of fine wine, it is only fitting that wine takes centre stage in the dining experience. A wide range of library wines from Rust en Vrede’s cellar are available, as well as an extensive international wine list to choose from. Sommelier James Mukosi works closely with chef Fabio to curate wine pairings for each dish on the menu. Combining a balanced menu with wines to enhance each dish, rounded off with stellar service, we aim to offer you a singular experience.
