Open since 2009, Ye Olde Tavern has been a fixture in this quaint historical town. In 2017, Sonya renovated and moved into a beautiful “Grand Olde” building located at 47 Bath Street, in the heart of Montagu. Showcasing the interesting history of this beautiful town, Ye Olde Tavern has a relaxed and informal ambiance, offering specialty dishes from Lamb Shanks, Traditional Bobotie, Cape Malay Butter Chicken and the best steak in town. Plenty of choices are available for Vegetarians, Vegans and Gluten Free diets. A hidden tranquil garden and social patio is the perfect spot to enjoy light lunches or romantic dinner. Popular with locals and visitors alike, it is always advisable to book ahead to avoid disappointment. Ye Olde Tavern is fully licensed. During the summer 2019/2020 season, Ye Olde Tavern is open for Lunch - Monday to Friday from 11:00am till 3:00pm. Open for Dinner Thursday’s to Tuesday’s from 4:00pm – 9:00pm. Closed on Wednesday nights

    We stopped for lunch and were treated to a 3 course meal that was on special for R75 per person. Incredible good value for money! Very well prepared meal. Excellent service and very calming atmosphere in back garden area. Also chatted with very friendly locals who were also very complimentary about the ye olde tavern. We are in Montagu for a few days and will definitely go back to try their dinner options.

    Nothing i can fault at this eatery! Fantastic food and atmosphere! Good range of wines and especially beer for a small town! Definitely a palce to eat!
