I didn’t know what to expect as the 28th of November was my 1st time there. What an awesome experience, spectacular views over Bedfordview and visitors drinking sundowners, as they enjoyed the view. Due to Covid I was a bit apprehensive to go, as I arrived we were welcomed by a lady wearing a bling mask and I could see part of the restaurant was totally in the open, all visible waiters were wearing masks. It was my sister’s birthday and she had ordered platters, I tackled them with enthusiasm, it the 1st time ever that everything on the platters tasted awesome, my friend raved about thee variety of olives, which is something I don’t eat. The platters were IVY Carnivore, there were 6 treats to delight in on this platter such as Buffalo wings, pork ribs, lamb cutlets, beef burger sliders etc. The IVY Rooftop platter included Panko chicken, salt & pepper calamari, halloumi & chorizo skewers, mozzarella peppadew balls. My favourite remains the deep fried halloumi and the mozzarella balls. For mains I had 6 salmon roses, refreshing after trying most of the platters’ contents along with a blue cocktail Pina Colada was refreshing. Someone ordered the Parmesan Crusted chicken Schnitzel, the crumbed topping was to hot and spicy, not what one expects, it was moist and tasty on the inside. A friend ate Pink Roses -Salmon roses, with spicy prawn mayo & caviar. It looked appetising as I’m a sucker for prawn anything. Someone else ordered the Cheddarmelt beef burger, when I saw the generous portion I got order envy.
For dessert someone had waffles and ice cream, when they were finished there wasn't a crumb left, so it had to have been as good as it looked, the rest ate Birthday cake. The friends are 7 years younger and seem to prefer a quieter spot, so we moved into the open air area later that evening, I didn’t mind the loud music, it wasn’t deafening. Overall the waitress was very efficient and it was a memorable night, still craving those platters….
