Shenanigans Irish Pub, a favourite haunt of the young crowd was relaxed and relatively quiet when I ordered the Special, a 300g Steak served with chips, sauce and a cold draught.
Service was prompt, the beer arrived cold and Maggie, an efficent and friendly waitress told me about the various beers on offer whilst I waited for the meal.
The steak was huge, tender and more than 300g's I'm sure, the sauce piquant and the chips plentiful.
The Pub is large, industrial in design with long, gleaming counters, plenty of flat screens and the beginnings of the Saturday afternoon crowd arriving. Talk was of the 7's Game against Australia.
The chips could have been heated up but at R60 it was a winner.
