We are fans of Kitima since the beginning, having spend many wonderful nights/lunches there. Today, April 23, we celebrated the birthday of my friend. A glass of bubbly was offered him by his girlfriend in Holland. There was no birthday gesture from the Kitima team. Peter invited Ajax Cape Town youth trainer Hans Vonk who lived in Hout Bay until end of 2011 and just came back. Hans had a meeting and arrived at almost 15, where he was supposed to join us at 13. I offered him5 pieces of sushi I did not take. We had loads of wine and a dom pedro and two cocktails (the famous Martini espresso) that was far too spicy. When we asked for the bill, they put on the whole buffet price (ie ZAR 350) for Hans who never even touched the buffet. After the very unkind dispute with manager Patrick, he called the police (security). What a shame. Even the police felt ashamed. When we left the premisses, they waved at us and said they forgot to ask Hans Vonk for his signature. This clearly was the last time we visited Kitima. We can find better places to have poor sushi, mediocre dim sums and mains. Bye bye Kitima... Be proud of your non service and non understanding... We do not want to blame the waiters, just manager Patrick... Pointing fingers? What does the word service means to him?
