Food’s flavors do not simply come in a fast pan, long preparation is needed to bring life to the plate, and every drop of love can be tasted. Most people today are focused on eating healthy, so we here at Polka believe that when eating something sweet, it has to be absolutely memorable.

My husband and I love this place. We make a point of stopping there every time we travel that way. We were very disappointed that it was undergoing reservations last time.
The first time, I had a take out salad. It was the one of the tastiest salads I ever had and I don't really like salad. I can't remember what my husband had but he's a foodie and he loved it. He especially loved the beer, "Beast of the Deep". According to him, it's the best craft beer he's ever had and he's tried many.
We ended up there one weekend on our way to Knysna. There was a wine tasting going on outside. It seemed to be organized by another group and not the cafe. It was a bit disappointing that we couldn't participate as you already had to have bought a ticket somewhere else. It was very busy and we got a table in the courtyard, which is very pretty with a distinctly Karoo feel. The food came quickly and didn't disappoint.

Absolutely appalled at the terrible food and service. It all began with the drinks. Ordered captain Morgan and coke. Got red heart. Ordered pork belly. Burnt to a crisp. Pitch black. My veggies tasted like they had been picked and put on my plate without washing. Wife's pizza was terrible. The broccoli soup we ordered came when everyone was done eating. It was for my son,who is 5. And the broccoli soup was actually tomato. Will never be going there again.

The pumpkin fritters are the best i've ever tasted. Sad to say, better than my mom's. Lovely food, pricy but good selection of wine. Great service.
