We celebrated a 60th Birthday at Old Town Italy and it was such a lovely experience! I booked a table by email and for the first time in my life a restaurant phoned me back to confirm the booking. I was so pleased to find when we arrived that we were given the private dining room upstairs! It was cosy and beautifully decorated. Our waitress for the evening was very attentive and accommodating, especially with the kids. The food, wine and coffee were amazing. I will definitely be back again!

Sunny side up or down, I believe that Old Town Italy has got this breakfast thing figured out. Now, being a student, a restaurant like this is not one that I will be able to visit frequently...but I would just like to point out that should the moment present itself where I have a bit of extra cash in the pocket, this is where I would take myself for a treat and it'll be money well spent. Upon arrival, it feels as if you step out of South Africa for a moment and proceed to enter a small town in the heart of Italy itself, hence a perfect score for ambience as it is evident that no expense was spared in decorated this place! Almost all the waitrons greet you with a friendly smile and an inviting attitude. I am yet to experience an evening at OTI, however I do believe that I have had the pleasure of having a breakfast experience, therefore I can happily vouch for the standards of excellence portrayed by this place. When the breakfast arrived, I was filled with joy to see that all the ingredients on my plate were fresh and well prepared. Of course, my dad had a cooked breakfast whereas I had more of a fresh produce with ciabatta breakfast. The quality of this breakfast was absolutely fantastic to say the least, to the point that I was almost willing to give up a few days worth of groceries just so that I could bask in the glory of the delicious breakfast once more before months end. I will definitely have to be back for a lunch experience and an evening adventure.

We had a spur of the moment lunch here and was pleasantly surprised - this restaurant deserves all the great reviews!
Our waitress Annabelle greated us warmly and easily suggested the popular items in the menu. The complimentary sourdough bread was served warm with balsamic vinegar, while we waited for our mains...which arrived only 15minutes after we ordered!
I can highly recommend the Angelo Pasta - amazing balance of creamy sauce yet crispy and smoky bacon bits and crunchy pastry piece on the side, as well as the Prosciutto flatbread with the crunchy outside and delicious cheese and homemade mayonaise filling with cured italian ham...very satisfying!
The manager Chris, regularly checked up on us, which added to our sense of dining at a friend's house, rather than a public restaurant.
Beautiful rustic interior, laid-back background music including Michael Bublé and Norah Jones and the smell of fresh pastry in the air - definitely worth a visit! Will also be beautiful at night with the lights and decor all over.
To add to the holiday feeling and making their customers feel extra at home, random cutlery sets have a hidden token, upon which the recipient receive a complimentary italian hazelnut nougat!
We will be back for their signature ice cream as well!
