We arrived very hungry for a late brunch at 11:30. The only thing friendly about our arrival was the patron who offered up his bigger table for our party of four. He and his partner moved to a corner seat for two. The tables were uncleared and dishes from previous customers were strewn across tables. Our waiter was unfriendly and grumpy, clearly not interested in being at work and clearly no interest in the menu either as she didn't know a single item we ordered, and had to refer to the menu for everything we asked. No Cortado or flat white. Cappuccino, Americano, Latte... that is the extent of the coffee offering. It was a descent cappuccino at least.
At 12:30 half the table's food arrived. Only half, minutes later the waitress came to apologise that the rest of the food is on its way. 12:35 the third dish arrived. And an eternity of two minutes passed before I was finally served. The food was okay . We ordered sandwiches and wraps, so not overly complicated for the palate to digest. The choc cheese cake was delicious.
It could have just been an off day. One disgruntled employee perhaps. Perhaps not, because the beef was disgruntled too and my husband spent most of the afternoon hugging the toilet bowl.
