Warm and inviting in winter time, bright and airy in the summer months, La Pineta Restaurant is truly a venue for all seasons. From the terrace or lawn you can enjoy stunning views of Table Mountain and the Cape Winelands, while sipping on a crispy white from their extensive wine list.
They cater for the entire family and sport an outside play park for the little ones. Treat your whole family to lunch under the pines or spend an entire evening in the welcoming glow of one of their open log fireplaces.

The first time I’ve visited La Pineta was many moons ago, for my surprise birthday. Sunday 17 may was my second visit and definitely my last. The bread basked was definitely a good start, but that was the basically the one and only highlight of the day. I probably should have known what was about to transpire when i saw a table reserved for 20-30 people and only two waiters in sight. Starters were Carpaccio of Beef *awesome* and Calamari ( deep fried "salt and pepper style" - whatever that was supposed to mean ) which was sent back to the kitchen *tasteless*. The main course was equally entertaining, Pepper Fillet (Flambéed at your table) , 400g Fillet Medium with greek salad and veg, and Fillet La Pineta with green salad, no starch. The Flambéed trick never happened, the one salad never arrived ( pretty much like our waiter ) and we all had fries ( which was the best course of the day). All three plates were returned to the kitchen as the steaks were cold. The second attempt left much to be desired for and I returned my meal to the kitchen. Whilst waiting for my two guests to finish their meal, I collected the medium cream sherry from the bar which I ordered just after my starter, much to the surprise of our waiter. Not once did the manger or supervisor show a face, the apology for the bad food was lame and just inexcusable. This is a restaurant that once had a reputation of superb food and superior service. We got the bill and left ( it wasn’t offered but no, I don’t take discount for bad food )
They say good food takes time to prepare, but how do you explain a bad meal that took the same amount of time ? Ignorance by management and the owners and then people wonder why they lose customers, see sales decline, business close, etc etc.
Good Luck
