This is a rustic family style restaurant with a cosy, intimate ambience. The Italian posters adorning the walls add to the charm of the room. Stepping into La Mama feels like going to grandma's house. And the service feels that way too, warm and friendly.
Sadly though, the food is terribly average. I had the cannelloni stuffed with beef. The beef was dry and didn't have much flavour. The dish relied heavily on the bechamel sauce and copious amounts of cheese. While these are not necessarily bad things, the dish was unbalanced and dull.
The charcuterie plate was good though, it was served with crisp flatbread and olive oil and balsamic.
Judging from the reviews of the other dishes at our table, this restaurant is more of a miss than a hit.
