is is definitely the kind of place where you have to book a table in advance. It is loud and vibey, perfect for a fun dinner with a group of friends.
The icebergs (draft with a scoop of frozen margarita) are perhaps one of the yummiest, funnest drinks in cape town.
The food is pretty good, though I have never ordered an individual main course. We usually order nachos and different snactus to share. The amazeballs and ribs are my favourites.
The service is always very friendly, and I'm usually impressed with how attentive they are considering the amounts of tables each waiter has to look after.
Something I always find exciting after a couple of icebergs is the tattoo bubble gum lolly pops given with the bill. The tattoos never stick, but I try every time

We've been fans of the other Fat Cactus locations for some time and finally got to try the new Woodstock location. It's definitely our favourite already!! The new location has a great vibe. The service was really good (though they were out of ketchup). But oh man, the food was the best part!! The new menu at this location still has the best of the other menus while also having great new options!! My wife had the awesome food truck tacos and I had AMAZING chicken & waffles. I'm from the southern part of the USA, so I know great soul food, and these were fantastic!
We can't wait to go back. The only drawback is that they aren't open on Sundays (yet).

We are big fans of the South African take on Tex-Mex served up at Fat Cactus and decided to give the newest branch a bash in Woodstock. The food did not disappoint, however the atmosphere did. The deck was nice and cozy because of a heater placed in the centre of the room, but the atmosphere was so loud we could barely hear each other speak at our small three seater. Due to two 15+ tables sitting adjacent to ours- the service was also a bit slow. All in all- a good evening- just avoid the deck if you can and the seated masses!
