Terrible service! Non-existent management! Never again!

Where do I start to explain how terrible this restaurant was? Got there, waited 15 minutes for drinks, drinks came, trainee waitress spilled milk all over my hand, without as much as an apology. Never took our food order. We realised that our waiter was busy with 3 large tables next to us, whilst the rest orf the restaurant was empty and all the other waiters were just standing around, so we ordered from another waitress who never returned. Our food showed up cold after about 45 minutes and I had a hair in my food, we decided to just forge on and eat. Received the bill, and the waiter added a service charge to our table of 4 people (and this all after the terrible service we had received, and, if I may add, had horrible attitude. We approached the manager which, needless to say was a mistake, instead of apologising for the appauling service and trying to make ammends she told us to (and I quote) "just pay [our] bill and get out!" Now the appauling service makes sense, the staff obviously follow her bad example. She was discourteous and rude, did not even listen to our complaints and basically accused us of being terrible customers and threw us out. Disgusted! I should probably also mention that this was on a late Sunday morning and the restaurant was not even busy. I shudder to think what the service is like if it's a busy evening. We are returning to Club Mykonos this weekend, but we will definitely not be visiting Driftwoods. I hope this serves as an eye opener to the owner of the restaurant, because the manager is terrible, clearly in the wrong profession and just a rude individual! If I could rate this restaurant I'd give it a 2/10. Which is a shame because of its idylic location.

Unfortunately I have to be a little harsh on Driftwood and its sister restaurant Pearlys. Although the location right on the lagoon (spoilt by a small carpark between the deck and the beach) is lovely, the food and service are merely average. Additionally, I was expecting a much bigger variety than that which was on offer. Aside from hake and the specials of the day (yellow tail and Canadian salmon?!), there was no other fish on the menu. Surprising and rather disappointing when one thinks of the local specialities that could have been on offer. This is fine for a casual eating-out experience, buit not fitting of a top 1000 restaurant. Many chains provide similar (or better) food and service, and I have eaten at several far better restaurants that are not in the top 1000. Its possible that the reviewers try to get a good spread of restaurants right around the country, but then why have they blatantly not covered areas where there are some very good restaurants?
