At Choo Choo Junction it’s more steam engine than steampunk and the food influences from everywhere meet here. They’re going to be serving lamb rump for example among the mains (Stokers) and because they like the idea of wood-fired food, slow-cooked where possible, they plan to make a big thing of their glazed, overnight-cooked beef shortribs.
They’ll be making different flatbreads from four different parts of the world. One of the starters or Taste Tracks comes from Spain: the cider-glazed chorizo; another from the Balkans: cevapcici, Balkan flatbread stuffed with sausage, creamy kajmak cheese, onion and peppers.
Desserts seem to be falling into the smores fun category, like marshmallow, biscuits and chocolate all melted down together into a cone. There will be Sunday roasts and breakfasts, also from various parts of the world, plus the lunches and evening meals, from Wednesdays through to Sunday.
