Owner's description

The brasserie named after the Khoisan word for Cape Town, offers diners a relaxing and sensory experience while overlooking the busy, working harbour inside the scenic V&A Waterfront. Camissa also includes a separate wine bar and wine-tasting room and an elegant private dining space for those special occasions.

Our Executive Chef has pulled out all the stops with his locally inspired and sourced menu. The focus is on a holistic approach to food, using the finest, freshest ingredients sourced from local farmers. Food is presented in beautifully simple dishes where home-grown flavours shine and we cannot wait for you to taste it for yourself.

We recently discovered the Camissa Brasserie at the Taste Of Cape Town event and decided to see what it is really like. We went there on Workers Day and enjoyed a splendid lunch on the veranda. Although it is not exactly cheap (esp. the wines) it is well worth the money. We enjoyed the fish & chips (grilled not fried), the lamb shank and a baby chicken, everything tasted great and the view over the Cape Town Harbour is stunning. Certainly a good place to take visitors.
