The well-earned 5 star reputation of De Hoek Country Hotel extends to its new Bridge Bistro restaurant, which overlooks the magnificent countryside of Magaliesburg. Lunch was a special occasion with gorgeous selections that made it so difficult to choose- master chef and co-owner Michael Hollenstein gets it right every time with his mouth-watering dishes. Starters such as a pesto stack of roasted aubergine, peppers, grilled courgette, goat cheese, or fresh mussels in a creamy garlic and herb sauce are heaven; my choice of Scottish salmon with a herb crust, Moroccan style cous-cous, spinach and lemon beurre-blanc was superb. bistro type meals like steak and chips are done in style and vegetarian selections are delightful and creative. Desserts are so pretty and flavouful (Hazelnut parfait , small pineapple stack, Sticky toffee, pecan pudding (V)or Continental style baked cheesecake are some examples). Service- impeccable- great for Sunday lunches or special occasions.
