One of my favorite places to have steak. The decor is a bit outdated but the service is amazing

Lovely restauraunt, wide selection of steak. The fillet is always a winner, being tender and juicy. Highly recommended.

I have never yet had a bad steak at cattle baron in 25 years! Their quality is consistent and their portion sizes reasonable. The fact that you get a starch AND veggies makes every plate worth the money spent - everywhere else every dish you want is extra. They also charge no corkage with makes it even more attractive. I have been to many steakhouses but Cattle baron Durbanville is still the best value and quality for money

Worst night ever. Bread basket only had 3 slices and 2 butter sticks for 4 people. Starter came that we did not order, yes we did eat it. Looked awesome and did taste nice. I ordered a blu 300g Chateau briand and asked specifictly not for a skillet but a very hot plate. Steak came and was colder then a normal blu steak.(not fussy about that cause a dont care). The plate was cold and the bearniase was set(ice cold like it came out of the fridge and was just put in the plate.). The mushroom sauce was just hot enough. When I asked the waiter about it, he said "I thought it is cold but uhm....". I send it back and did not take another plate of food. You can call that "cut your nose and spite your own face" but that is just how I am. The manager came to the table, and with a smile said "I'll remove it from the bill". WHAT??!! You will do that for me?? I expect that as I litteraly took one bite from the steak. To top that, my wife ordered a strawberry milkshake and got pink milk after 35min. I regularly go to Cattle Baron TygerWaterfront and never in my life had a problem with anything. I end up spending R775 for other people. This is for sure the first and LAST time Cattle Baron Durbanville will see me.
