Owner's description

96 Winery Road has been proudly perfecting Winelands dining for the past 26 years. We wear our title of "the Winelands Restaurant" with great pride.

From our humble beginning in May 1996, it has been our goal to delight each guest with a superb dining experience. The past few years have certainly created many challenges, but we've remained steadfastly committed to our goal throughout - we’ve tested, innovated and adapted our offering to meet the changing needs of our customers in this "new normal" and we're extremely proud and excited to share it with you!

96 Winery Road is open seven days a week. In the mornings, we serve freshly brewed coffee and delectable breakfasts - including our sought-after stuffed croissants. Our new Small Plates menu, which includes a wide selection of scrumptious new dishes, signature favourites and decadent desserts, is available daily for lunch and for dinner Monday to Saturday.

This dinner was just the opposite of a restaurant week deal. Completely inacceptabe as far as quality, price and quantity is concerned and an affront to all other restaurant week participants. The worst dinner in Stellenbosch ever and the worst restaurant dinner ever!!! I had as a starter three small strips of pure fried fat, awful, the main was an undefinable small piece of overcooked porc meat. My wife had an awful mash of salad and garlic overloaded chicken bits instead of the stuffed chicken breast. A shame. I do not understand who Eat Out could accept such extremely bad menues as deals. This puts the credibility of your important voice in foodie affairs completely into question. And how is it possible that such a very bad restaurant is so popular???? Incredible and completely unjustified!,,
Any visit to this area should in my opinion include a meal at 96 Winery Road. For the best burgers, steak and crème brûlée! A great selection of craft beers and single malt whiskys are available. They have one of the best wine lists in town. And if you are a group of 10 or so, take advantage of dining in the wine cellar.
This restaurant has been our safe place for over 18 years now, so what more to say than delicious comfortable food, efficient service and fabulous winelist! Why go to chain restaurants, when you get such true food!
last Sunday we met with friends at 96 Winery Road for lunch. We managed to sit outside for while until the sun gave up against the cold air and the outside heater wasn't working. But we all enjoyed our lunch, having ordered everything from Shortbread to Steak and everybody was happy with their choices. Because of "don't drink when driving" we couldn't do justice to the extensive winelist but there will be other times.

This is my favourite restaurant on earth! The service is always wonderful. The waiters are always prompt and extremely attentive - they anticipate your every need before you even realise you have a need. The waiters are also very well informed about the menu, and are happy to take the time to explain each item.

The food has always been wonderful. The only thing they could do differently is to offer more vegetarian options.

Their famous duck and cherry pie is to die for!
