For me one of the more important components of going to a restaurant is actually getting to eat at the venue. This however seems to be a problem for The Other Side Restaurant. After making a booking for myself a several friends we were greeted at the Monaghan farm entrance (through which you have to travel to get to the restaurant) by an army of security guards. To my surprise my driver's license was demanded and then that of my wife. This is found to be an usual request. When to the surprise discovery of the security my license was found to be expired I was denied entrance to the estate and therefore to the restaurant. The guards then became aggressive as we tried to sort this out over the phone with The Other Side Manager Linda. Of course there was the usual apology for not informing us of this draconian measure before hand but the damage was done. We cancelled the entire lunch without a bite of food. Much to the amusement of some of the Monaghan farm residents - of course well protected by their security fence. The motto is simple - who wants to dine out when you have to prepared to a show down at the O.K Corral. Get your act together Other Side Restaurant.
