Everything Tim Smith said was 100% accurate! As a South African knowing the quality of fine dining experiences we have here, (La Colombe, Homespun, Chefs Warehouse) this was a disappointment. The service actually felt uncomfortable, people who enjoy being treated like “a master” would enjoy their service, but I did not feel we had a dinner to ourselves but rather with all the staff tending to us every few minutes. The food got worse as each dish went on, as someone who is open to try anything - I’ve eaten reindeer, crocodile and most wild meats, but the duck made me gag, and I struggled to swallow it. There also was no variety as it was 70% fish. It was the first time I felt guilty for spending money like that on food that didn’t live up to the expectations and definitely something tourists wouldn’t be bothered by as they don’t know what other options Cape Town has to offer.
