I have lived in Empangeni for almost 3 years and I have to say that Nam Jai made my stay so much more pleasurable. The new premises are clean and aesthetically appealing. You are greeted at the door by a wave of Thailand. The Tepanyaki tables are always ready to go and the chef seems like he's more excited than you to be there. The sushi is always fantastic and the new menu has a few tantalizing surprises. I am a creature of habit, my usual order being the cashew nut duck stir fry and bean curd sushi with prawn and chilli..it became my usual order at least a few times a month as I was always impressed with the dish. I have also ventured out and tried the curries and duck specialities..both being marvelous. The bar is always well stocked and the ladies will whip up a few specials…lemon meringue smoothies etc etc..Desserts entails the ultimate climax of your meal and it does not disappoint..freshly baked wonders are stacked in a glass viewing box for you to choose from. The take-away option is 5 star, just make sure you give the chef enough time.Apart from the food I have to applaud the staff. I know that they have won Zululand Masterchef on multiple occasions and yet they still aim to do better. Maude and crew are friendly, always smiling and helpful. They will always go out out of their way to ensure you are satisfied. Prices are reasonable and there is ample parking outside the restaurant. Dr Sophie Ramsaroop
