Sunday, 20 November is set to be a day of celebration, the pinnacle of the Eat Out brand’s continuous commitment to supporting and growing the restaurant industry. On this day the Eat Out Woolworths Restaurant Awards will recognise and salute the chefs and restaurants that exemplify excellence in the industry. And for the first time, we will reveal Eat Out stars – in addition to a list of individual special awards.

Hosting this year’s anticipated awards event will be the powerful duo of Elana Afrika-Bredenkamp and celebrity chef Zola Nene.

Elana is an award-winning radio presenter and one of the country’s leading broadcasters. As a mother of two young daughters, she manages ballet recitals and after-school hockey while presenting one of the country’s most-listened-to mid-morning radio shows on Jacaranda FM. She is the recipient of a Presidential PRISM Award for Radio Presenter of the Year and is the founder and presenter of SA’s number one parenting podcast – Parent & Baby Brunch.

Zola Nene, the other half of the duo, swapped her BComm Law studies for the invigorating smells of the kitchen over 10 years ago. In that time she has whipped up hearty meals with some of South Africa’s brightest stars on her cooking show, Celeb Feasts with Zola, appeared on Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted alongside the titular internationally renowned chef. In 2019, Zola scooped the Best in the World award in the TV category at the prestigious Gourmand World Cookbook Awards for her second cookbook, Simply Zola and has just released her third cookbook titled Simply Seven Colours.

We can’t wait for both Zola and Elana to delight our special guests who will be welcomed with canapés and WCellar Cap Classique, followed by a 6-course wine-paired seated lunch cooked by some of South Africa’s most talented chefs.

You can be one of the first to know who the Eat Out star restaurants and special award winners are for 2022, including the coveted titles of Chef of the Year and Restaurant of the Year.
