Wholesome: Clarke’s team opens healthy takeaway spot on Bree Street

The team behind Clarke’s Bar and Dining Room has been a bit busy of late. After the recent sneaky opening of their hidden pizza joint, Hail Pizza, comes the launch of a healthy daytime eatery and takeaway hatch called Wholesome, located in the same space.

If you’re not in the mood for one of the Clarke’s killer brioche burgers, head through the Bree Street diner’s courtyard and enter the trendy new Wholesome space. The bright and breezy spot is serving loads of fresh eats like salads, tartines (French-style open sandwiches) and baked goods with a focus on to-go food for busy office dwellers in the city bowl.

The menu at Wholesome is bright and colourful, with a few familiar favourites from the Clarke’s menu. Pop in for breakfast and see dishes like grapefruit brûlée with ginger sugar, or take a classic granola and yoghurt for the office. Lunches feature the likes of tartines topped with buttermilk ricotta and jam, cream cheese and smoked trout, labneh and radishes, or mettwurst and fresh red onion. There are also salads with chickpeas, asparagus, and poached eggs.

As for drinks, expect to see the popular Clarke’s bloody Mary on the menu as well as fresh juices, Deluxe coffee and Lady Bonin’s matcha latte.

Wholesome is now open from Monday to Friday from 7am to 4pm, Saturdays from 8am to 4pm and Sundays 8am to 3pm.
