Welcome to MiWORLD An entirely new way of “doing” cocktails and munchies has hit Jozi and it’s all thanks to Liquid Chefs, the guys who pretty much pioneered the “cocktail revolution”.

The  MiWORLD concept is an exclusive network that requires a secret code to join. Members’ privileges are awarded to selected individuals and you have to register online and then log in at the door when you arrive at a MiLOCATION. Doing so enables you to order off the interactive MiTABLES, e-chat with neighbouring tables and MiLOCATIONS, view the menu and access the MiWORLD network, which contains exclusive content and special offers.

Two venues, MiBAR Martini and MiLOUNGE Martini, form part of this forward-thinking concept and are only available to MiWORLD members – best you register quickly.

MiBAR Martini, which launched recently, is a chic pop-up cocktail bar located in the Design District of Rosebank. Enjoy cocktails and snacks at a unique interactive experience that includes digital MiTABLES, where it may take you a while to get used to the lack of hovering waitron staff as you order your meal and beverages via a touch screen. There’s even an interactive wall and digitally enhanced bar environment.

The food menu complements the drinks with tasty cocktail bites such as zucchini vegetable burgers – home-made baked baby marrow patties with caramelized onions and gherkins, served with potato wedges and wasabi mayo. Because Liquid Chefs are behind this concept, you can be sure that the cocktails are a full-on experience.

MiLOUNGE Martini, which opened this month, offers a sophisticated cocktail, champagne and wine bar in the trendy Blu Bird Shopping Centre in Melrose. MiLOUNGE Martini is very similar to MiBAR Martini but has more of a lounge vibe, and the menu offers light snacks and tapas. Dig into lamb skewers –half splashed with a zesty yoghurt dressing and the other marinated in a cola-BBQ sauce – served with potato wedges and wasabi mayo, while sipping on a lovely glass of bubbly.
