United during lockdown: Local chefs share moving pictures on social media

The coronavirus pandemic has sparked lockdowns in countries all over the world. Restaurants, cafés and bars, once bustling with staff and laughing patrons, are now silent.

Over the Easter weekend, chefs challenged each other to share pictures of themselves proudly standing in their distinctive uniform. The post reads: “Challenge accepted: To all the chefs, join the challenge to post a photo of you in your chef uniform. Just a picture, no description. The goal is to flood social media with our profession.”

If you are a restaurant owner or chef in need of assistance, please read our Beyond Lockdown section where you can activate fundraising mechanisms like Backabuddy to garner support for your staff.

Bravo, chefs! We applaud and support you, and can’t wait to see you all back in action again.
