Calling all Durban foodies: It’s time for this year’s Street Feast pop-up. The Plant, Durban’s hippest event venue that plays host to the popular weekly Morning Trade market, is teaming up with The Renegade Kitchen to bring Durbanites a year end celebration in the form of a mega street feast.
The talented Lucy Markewicz, who is also behind the likes of Vanille Café, Freedom Café and CakeLab, is the creative hands behind The Renegade Kitchen. With the perfect venue sorted, this mobile food brand be adding the flavour with a menu curated specifically for this exciting feast.
What’s on the 10-course menu? The feast will include starters such as deep fried olives, Szechuan-salted root vegetable crisps, and spicy popcorn with lime and paprika. For mains, tuck in to a range of sliders, an assortment of mini gourmet bunny chows, mini soft tacos, Vietnamese spring rolls, Asian beef kebabs, sriracha-glazed sticky wings, and bruschetta bites. Dessert is an array of mini treats from donuts and popsicles to profiteroles and artisanal toffee apples.
The Street Feast pop-up will be held at 6pm on 1 and 2 December and costs R350 per person (which includes welcome craft beer and wine). Seats are limited. To secure your spot, click here before 29 November.
