UberEATS, the on-demand food delivery app, launches officially launches in Joburg today, Thursday 29 September. The service, which has been around for some time in other countries, operates in a separate app to the taxi service.
Current restaurant partners include Momo Baohaus, Casalottis and Paul’s Homemade Ice Cream, amongst others.
For now, the service is limited to Northern Johannesburg from 7am to 10pm, seven days a week, but Uber says there are plans to expand delivery across Gauteng and to add more restaurants in the coming weeks.
The app will allow users to rate their courier as well as the restaurant, giving them a thumbs up or thumbs down. The delivery fee is R20.
Hi… Great idea. I am a huge fan and user of uber. I have down loaded the app for ubereats … but I cannot find my promocode. I’m using an android. Not sure if that makes a differance
Love Uber Eats. Have used it twice this week. Only thing wish that the credit card transaction reference would differentiate between Uber Drive and Uber Eats!
This sounds great, only problem is you only accept credit cards, can there not be another method of payment, cash, EFT. etc. Not everyone has credit cards.
