Heritage Day – also known as Braai Day – always brings about several crazy promotions, but this is one we imagine could be genuinely useful. In the event that you’ve neglected to stock up on boerewors ahead of the big day – or don’t feel like braving a shopping centre on a public holiday – you’ll be able to have your wors delivered to you via Uber thanks to a partnership with Checkers.

The service will be available in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Durban, where you’ll be able to select UberMzansi instead of an UberX or UberBlack, and have some Checkers Championship Boerewors delivered to your door. The wors Ubers will be taking orders on Thursday between 10am and 2pm, and a 1kg packet will cost you R60.

You’ll have to use a different service, however, if you’re running low on beer, briquettes or braaibroodjies.
