'Tis the season to be jolly, and there’s no better way to kick off the festivities than sampling the best bubbles in the business at Franschhoek's annual The Magic of Bubbles Cap Classique and Champagne Festival.

Sponsored by Investec Private Bank, the festival takes place in a grand marquee on the Huguenot Monument’s sprawling lawns between 3 and 5 December. As always, the event will boast sought-after Cap Classiques and Champagnes from home and abroad. Local estates include Boschendal, Môreson, House of Krone, Pierre Jourdan and Graham Beck, while international headliners feature Billecart-Salmon, Gosset, Laurent-Perrier and Tribaut.

On top of the award-winning bubbles up for tasting, visitors can sample food from renowned Franschhoek restaurants such as Le Quartier Français, The Restaurant at Grande Provence and Bread & Wine.

Tickets cost R180 per person and include a tasting glass and booklet of tasting vouchers.
